Winston: Adopted In 2004

HI my name is Taylor Dawson. I adopted a cat from friends for life in the year of 2004. That was the start of a friendship, and a life long bond. It was also the best decision I have ever made.
Winston is a long gray haired cat that actually picked our family. We walked into our local Petsmart to adopt a cat. There were so many to chose from. We were actually looking at the cat above Winston, which had already been claimed by an old lady. All of a sudden I felt something clawing at my pants and I looked down and there was a cute little cat paw stuck to my jeans! We pet him and he crawled into my lap. That's when we decided he was ours.
Winston was forgotten about and was under weight and hurt by children. Petsmart said we shouldn't take him, but we had to!!! It took him a while to get used to us, and I couldn't get his name right! That night I stayed up all night petting him and talking to him. I was the only one he'd really come near, and of course my mom. Soon we became best friends. He talks to us. He meows hello, out, and even no! It's very funny. Every night he sleeps with me under my blankets and waits by the door for me when I get home from school. We snuggle, which is rare because he is afraid to be held, and I carry him and call him my baby. He means the world to me and I love him beyond comprehension. My face lights up when I see him. Every time i spend the night at a friends house or I'm not home for a while he follows me everywhere meowing and letting me hold him and kiss him. As a matter of fact he is sitting in my lap right now as I type :) I love Winston. Even though he coughs up hairballs an
d scratches me every once in a while, he will always be my best friend. I could go on and on about him, but to sum it all up.... I LOVE HIM!!!!
