I am a new volunteer and on my scheduled Friday morning shift I noticed a cute little white poodle mix that had been named " Jackpot". I couldn't help but notice how he resembled the poodle mix (Happy) that my mom and dad recently had to say goodbye to after 12 wonderful years. Even though my mother said that she would not go through the process of having to say goodbye to another dog, she jumped at the chance to see jackpot when I mentioned that he looked much like "Happy" when he was young. Almost immediately they wanted me to take them to see Jackpot. They immediately fell in love with this energetic little guy! The morning that he was available, they were at FFL 30 minutes early so they didn't miss out! We found out that there was another family wanting to adopt him while we were still there.
Almost two weeks later he (now named "Sonny") has been just perfect for them. He and his new brother, "Benny" (a yorkie) have become inseperable ! My parents had nothing but praise for the professionalism that the staff exhibited throughout the process. I like to say that things happen for a reason and had I not taken the step to become a volunteer AND had not taken the Friday am shift, this connection would never have been accomplished. Thanks from my entire family to FFL. I truly am proud to be a part of your organization !
