Mia (formerly known as Binkie)

On Saturday, October 12th, I attended Barktoberfest in Gilbert with my daughter, 5 of her fellow Girl Scouts and a good friend who was helping as a parent leader. Shortly after we arrived, from a distance, we all saw the CUTEST dog being walked into the park. We each made our comments on how cute she was and it didn't take long for the girls to realize she was one of the dogs that was up for adoption!

My daughter immediately fell in love with Binkie (whom we have since renamed Mia). For the entire 4 hours of our volunteering shift I continually said we were NOT going to go home with a dog since we already have an equally adorable dog, Oreo. Oreo is a great dog and seemed to be fine as the only dog in the house. I did not see the need to disrupt the order of our house by introducing another dog to our home.

Well.....to make a long story short, my husband came to Barktoberfest later with Oreo, as we had previously planned. My daughter convinced him to fill out the application so she could just "look at Binkie" and to see if Oreo and she even got along well together. What happened next is still surreal almost a month later! The kind volunteers at Friends for Life helped us introduce the dogs and they seemed to get along far better than I had anticipated. "Binkie" was an absolute sweetheart and once she climbed in my daughters lap and snuggled in for some loving petting I knew "Binkie" had found her Furever home and we had just completed our family! To say the the rest of the Girl Scout troop was excited would be a dramatic understatement!

We took Mia home and she and Oreo have a fun, loving and playful relationship. Mia is everything we could have hoped for in a pet - and then some. Her vet and groomer have all commented how sweet she is and how lucky we are to have found her. We couldn't agree more and we look forward to many happy years with our sweet Mia :-)
