A place to share your stories about the furry friends that the volunteers at Friends for Life rescued from the streets. Because you adopted a dog or cat from us, you made space for us to be able to rescue another dog or cat. You saved two lives the day you adopted from Friends for Life!

Cagney is really Gracie
We adopted this sweet girl 3 weeks ago today and she is just so precious. Luckily the shelter had rescued her a second time after she was found wandering and called her by her name from long ago. When we brought her to our vet for a check up we found her rabies certificate with the name Gracie on it. Up until that time when we called her she didn't respond. But from the other room we called 'Gracie' and she ran right in. Gracie seemed a little sad at first, we're sure she missed both her foster parents, whom we're so grateful to for giving this sweet girl a warm, friendly place, as well as the home she had before, but each day she seems happier and really loves her walks and trips to the park. We couldn't be luckier to have found such a precious girl, and at 10 years old she still has plenty of puppy in her. Adopting an older dog is very rewarding, everyone should consider it. Here's a few pictures of our girl.
