Both of our constant companions were adopted from F4L. When we went to F4L to "just look" at dogs available for adoption we had a large lab mix in mind since we had always had larger dogs. What met us at the blocked off door of the kitchen as we were checking in was a terrier mix named Iggy. Iggy bounded up to the gate wagging his tail with a look that said "Well, what took you so long to get here?" We did go look at other dogs but the little guy with the big ears was the one who came home with us. We renamed him Arnie after our favorite golfer. We are not sure what mix he is but he has corgi legs, shephard ears and a personality the size of Texas. Arnie has become the mayor of our street and is convinced everyone he meets has come to play with him. We have had dogs in our house for 30 years but Arnie is by far the most joyful dog who has ever entered.
His partner in crime is Jack. Jack who was named "Nick" while at F4L is a keeshound/cattledog mix. He is the more laid back of the two until it comes to tennis balls and then watch out. His favorite game is herding three tennis balls in a circle and then having you throw them to him. We do this at least 2-3 times a day in the greenbelt across the street from our house and on weekends at the dog park. When not herding his tennis balls, Jack is our constant companion. Wherever we are in the house, Jack is at our feet or laying next to us. When you look into his beautiful soft brown eyes, his love for us just pours out and they seem to say, "Thanks for letting me be your dog."
Thank you F4L for bringing these two incredible companions into our lives. They fill our house and our hearts with constant joy.
