Turtle (Sissy) and Spacek

We adopted Turtle (previously Sissy) and Spacek in 2001. They were sisters that came in together from a home that had several other cats and dogs. We first adopted Turtle, and then not long after, came back for Spacek. They explored their new home in the company of each other's presence and security. They loved us and even our dog, hanging out with us every day and following us around.

Turtle passed away a couple months ago after a long battle with hepatic lipidosis. Being a very smart cat, she knew it was coming and spent every day thanking us for giving her a second chance and taking her in. She always knew things... like when I was going to leave to go back up to college, when we were going on vacation, etc.

Spacek is doing well with the empty house and doesn't mind being the only (spoiled) child. When we first brought her home, she was very scared and shy of everything. That quickly changed and she blossomed once she settled in. Now she is a loving, obnoxiously vocal kitty that follows you around and will do anything for your attention. After 10 years she actually likes to be picked up and held because she realizes that's the best way to get this attention haha.

Thank you Friends for Life for rescuing these cats and making them wonderful parts of my life :)
